Dear Liam,
On your fourth day of life, your dad and I took you somewhere we'd dreamt of going since we knew about you: Radnor Lake. While I was pregnant with you, Radnor became like our second home. It's probably one of the reasons you came early and so fast! We'd meet there after your dad would get off of work on most days during the last few months of pregnancy and talk about you for miles. What would you look like? When would you be here? Would the leaves still be beautiful when you came?
The moment we stepped out of the car and smelled the crisp air of Radnor, the tears came. I couldn't hold it in. I'm sure it was, in part, because of crazy hormones and not much sleep. But I know it was also because the last time we were here, you were kicking around inside and I was having strong contractions about 3 minutes apart. And now you're here - healthy, strong, beautiful. An answered prayer. Our little miracle.
So to be here - with you - was a dream come true. You, my little prince, are a dream come true. We love you more than you can imagine, and we can't wait to spend so many more days at Radnor with you. You make our favorite spot so much better.
Love,
Your mom
how sweet! (you all could be a promo for the britax company! such great pictures!)
ReplyDeleteHaha it does kind of look like that. :)
DeleteSuch a sweet letter to Liam...it is so special to bring our new little miracles to the places we went when they were within. I just took Elizabeth to walk the trail I walked every day while pregnant as well as the day she was born!
ReplyDeleteps...how much do you love your stroller?
LOVE it! Do you have the same one?
DeleteWe have the Uppababy...they're so similar:) Happy walking!
DeleteGosh, so sweet and special. And what a beautiful place to love so much and to share with your growing family. I love reading your blog!
ReplyDeletep.s. Currently 15 weeks and starting to weigh stroller/car seat pros and cons. Are you happy with the Britax?
We're so happy with the Britax. It's so smooth, easy to maneuver, folds up nicely, and obviously fits with our carseat until he's big enough for the seat it came with. The main reason we bought it was that you can easily add a second seat (for a second child) as we're hoping our children will come close-ish together and it would be nice not to have to sell this one and buy a double stroller.
DeleteHow amazing that you get to share your world with your precious miracle!!!
ReplyDeletePS: You look amazing for having just given birth!!
Thanks!!
DeleteI wondered how soon you would be taking him there. Walking a lot... I'll have to remember that. :) Love the photos. You look so great, Whitney. And the leaves do still look beautiful! I think they've lasted longer this year than last year.
ReplyDeleteYES - walk, walk, walk! We walked at least a couple miles a day for almost all of the pregnancy. I really think that's what made him come fast!
DeleteTEARS!
ReplyDeleteI love you. :)
DeleteWhitney, congratulations on the birth of your sweet baby Liam. He is absolutely precious! I have been following your blog for almost two years now and just amazed at the faithfulness of God to your life. He has used your words to really encourage my faith, bring thought provoking questions to mind, and inspire me to be a woman after His heart.
